Support for the United States Participation in Dak’Art

The official United States participation in Dak'Art 2004 is made possible by major support from The Fund for U.S. Artists at International Festivals and Exhibitions, a partnership established to insure that the excellence, diversity, and vitality of the arts in the United States is represented internationally. The Fund is supported by two Federal Agencies, the U.S. Department of State and the National Endowment for the Arts; and by two private foundations, the Rockefeller Foundation and the Pew Charitable Trusts. Arts International, a nonprofit organization based in New York, administers The Fund. The Federal Advisory Committee on International Exhibitions, a committee of the National Endowment for the Arts, reviews proposals for the open, competitive process through which the U.S. Commissioner and the official U.S. representative are selected. The exhibition is presented under the auspices of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State, in cooperation with the U.S. Embassy in Dakar.

Major support was also provided by the Andy Warhol Foundation, the Tides Foundation, the Art For Art's Sake Foundation and the Ford Foundation.
